The Order of DeMolay 1919-2006

March 21st, 2006 Leave a comment Go to comments

fsland2.jpgThis week marks the 87th year of the International Order of DeMolay since its Annos Ordinis. This week also marks the 692nd death anniversary of the Last Grand Master of the Knights Templars, Jacques DeMolay, our hero and martyr whose name we have taken into our lips.

Millions of young men from all walks of life all over the world have become members of the Order since its founding in 1919. Many DeMolays became prominent in their fields of endeavor, like Walt Disney, John Wayne, John Steinbeck, Mel Blanc and Former US President Bill Clinton to mention a few. The Order of DeMolay was founded by Dad Frank Sherman Land, a prominent Mason in Kansas City, Missouri. Since its foundation, the Order is kept under the guardianship of the world’s most ancient and noble fraternity, Freemasonry. The Order of DeMolay is the main youth organization of the universal Masonic fraternity.

The Philippines takes pride in being the first to establish a DeMolay Chapter in Asia, the Jose Abad Santos Chapter which was established in March 23, 1946. Today there are more than 70 DeMolay Chapters scattered all over the country existing under the auspicies of the Supreme Council of the Order of DeMolay of the Republic of the Philippines. Philippine DeMolay has also its share of members excelling in their chosen fields like the award winning film directors Joel Lamangan and Ben Cervantes, Mayors Jejomar Binay and Nepthali Gonzales Jr, Eli Buendia of the erstwhile Eraserheads, Luke Mejares of the South Border Band, etc.

This year also marks my 25th year as member of the Order of DeMolay. Since my initiation to the Order until now I have always enjoyed the comradeship of my brethren. I consider it a unique privilege to be counted as one among the million of men around the world who have knelt before the altar of everlasting fellowship, beheld our martyr’s trial, took his name sacred and proudly proclaims, “I am a DeMolay”.

To my Brethren in the Order of DeMolay, my stp o grs, sgn o wcm, tkn o btd n wrd o emn,DeMolay! Happy 87th Anniversary!!!

Our Order had endured the test of time and thirteen years more, we will be celebrating our Centennial!

Let your light so shine before Man that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in Heaven

    GREETINGS TO ALL!

I know dad jess very much. he is our Chapter Dad at the present time.
and definitely one of the Feliciano Iñigo DeMolay Pride.
a dedicated family man, a brilliant lawyer, a very supportive dad mason
and most probably one of the most proficient DeMolay in our chapter.

about bro. Carlos, im so sorry if you had a not so fortunate experience in our chapter.
but I tell you. The Feliciano Iñigo Chapter DeMolay Davao City Philippines will always keep the 7 candles burning and will always remain as a beacon of the south. I have nothing against of your catastropic experience because you are my brother. instead I would like to say that its “ok” atleast you became a brother DeMolay. I know that is something you are proud of. I know you are older than me. maybe you are one of the Batch 90′s in DeMolay FIC. in my case Im one of the Batch 2k’s. specifically batch “soloflight” first term of 2005. And ever since I am very proud to be a member of the DeMolay Order. and continuing to do GOOD and to be BETTER.

just like dad Sam and dad Jess said: “THINK TWICE BEFORE ACTING ONES”
I hope in seeing you personally with dad jess and talk about the matter.

    fraternally yours,
    Kevin Alojado De Asis
Feliciano Iñigo Chapter, Davao City 8000

note: i was just surfing the net till i bumped to this blog of dad Sam. hehe! AYOS!ü
please support FIC because we are planning to hold the 2008-2009 conclave.

oopss. i think mali ata ako. hehe! c bro. Jesus Iñigo pla yan not dad Jess Espejo. i over read it. sorry bro! hehe.
but I will not take back what i said about being a proficient DeMolay!!!!
because bro. Jesus Iñigo so to speak is one of my inspirations in internalizing the ceremony of the rose a.k.a “flower talk”. i was newly conferred that time when he visited us and delivered the flower talk during our stated meeting. It was so solemn and devout. since then i started memorizing the ceremony until I was so good at it. and was given the opportunity to have it delivered to the lodges in Davao Masonic Center and its appendant bodies. and now I’m the one who is teaching it already to the new batches.=)

again bro. sorry. long time no see nga pala you may not know me by face im but sure when we get to see each other i’ll approach you first. tnx

Brethren, I’m a brother from Mt. Asog Chapter, Iriga City, Camarines Sur, Region V. I’ve read some of the comments here and it is really surprising and amazing to know that there are people interested of our Order despite of our being “low profile” in terms of popularity here in the Philippines. I’m just stating an observable reality. Mas ok nga ung low profile lang para mysterious. It gives them the creeps especially when they see young men in black robes.

Hope our Order can be as old as civilization. Preserve the DeMolay prestige.

Never mind the bollocks. Wag nyo na lang pansinin ung mga taong sinisiraan tayo na kesyo daw anti-christ, hindi sikat, walang binatbat sa gulo, etc. I don’t want to conclude or make any hasty judgment ’cause it’s against our obligation as DeMolays but these accusations, call it that way, are blessings in disguise kasi lagi tayo nasa intriga, parang showbiz, “talk of the town” kung baga.

Anyway, hope to meet you all in a DeMolay affair or maybe somewhere. Mabuhay kayo mga Molay!

    to Denver Cayaga,

“2B1 /G\ ASK1″ means “TO BE ONE, ASK ONE” it’s not that easy to be a Mason, there are many questions you need to answer before you know your fit to be a Mason. Just ask yourself first “Why should I become a FREEMASON?”. Here’s my advice, think first, because what you are ENTERING is not just an Organization, but PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION.
